Production Assistant (Spray Painter)
Location: Alrode
Type of employment: Permanent
Key Responsibility Areas:
- Carry out work in line with the daily spray-painting schedule;
- Perform spray-paint application and touch-ups, including masking, sanding, line tape, application, tack rag use, and buffing;
- Inspect all components for damage or defects before and after spray-painting;
- Maintain strict compliance with company quality standards;
- Keep work areas and equipment clean and well maintained;
- Ensure all hazardous waste (solid and liquid) is handled and stored correctly;
- Maintain a high standard of housekeeping in line with the company’s 5S policy.
Essential Requirements:
- Matric;
- Proficient in English, with the ability to read, write, and communicate effectively;
- Minimum of one year’s hands-on experience, with a proven ability to deliver high-quality workmanship;
- Knowledge of, and exposure to, 2K paint application;
- Experience in setting up spray guns and mixing various types of paint;
- Flexible and adaptable, with a solid and up-to-date understanding of spray-painting processes;
- Strong time management skills;
- Physically able to stand for extended periods and lift heavy equipment when required;
- Able to perform basic mental calculations and accurately use a scale for paint mixing.
