Key Responsibility Areas:

• Assembly of the fuselage top box.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications to assemble aircraft fuselage sections.
• Fit, align, drill, and rivet structural components such as bulkheads, stringers, ribs, and skins.
• Safely operate pneumatic tools, riveting guns, drills, calipers, and measuring equipment.

Key Responsibility Areas:

• Assemble various aircraft components in accordance with construction drawings and technical specifications.
• Use hand grinders, pneumatic rivet guns, squeezers, and hand drills to complete assembly tasks.
• Ensure all work meets required quality standards and industry regulations.
• Conduct visual inspections of assembled parts to identify and correct defects.
• Properly operate and maintain hand and power tools used in assembly.
• Follow all safety guidelines when using tools and machinery.
• Interpret construction drawing and work instructions accurately.
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations within the workshop.
• Maintain a clean and organised workstation, ensuring tools and materials are stored correctly.
• Assist with other tasks within the Small Sub-Assembly department as required.

• Proficient in English (spoken, written, and reading).

• Ability to use industrial files safely and competently.
• Technical experience drilling flat surfaces and pipes, riveting, and using a pneumatic grinder.

• Assemble, rivet, and bond sub-assemblies into final empennage structures using specialised tooling and fixtures.
• Drill, ream, and countersink holes in aluminium and composite structures to exact tolerances.
• Install flight control surfaces, brackets, hinges, and sealing materials according to engineering blueprints.
• Perform self-inspections and utilise precision measuring instruments to ensure compliance with aerospace quality standards.

• Operate industrial sewing machines to stitch upholstery components and materials.
• Sew and assemble aircraft seat covers, cushions, panels, and other upholstery components according to specifications.
• Read and follow patterns, templates, drawings, and work instructions.
• Ensure all stitching and finished components meet the required quality standards.
• Inspect materials and completed work for defects or inconsistencies.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
• Meet production deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

Essential Requirements:

• Matric.
• Previous experience as a stitcher, industrial sewing machine operator, or upholsterer.
• Experience working with industrial sewing machines.
• Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
• Ability to follow patterns, measurements, and technical instructions.
• Good quality awareness and the ability to work accurately.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Experience in automotive, aviation, or furniture upholstery would be an advantage.
• A strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn.
