Production Assistant (Cleaner)

Location: Alrode
Type of employment: Permanent

Key Responsibility Areas:

  • Perform routine sweeping and mopping of floors.
  • Wipe down surfaces to control dust accumulation and maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Collect and dispose of trash in designated containers, ensuring proper waste disposal.
  • Clean and sanitise restrooms, including sinks, toilets, and other facilities, to maintain a hygienic environment for employees.
  • Maintain cleanliness in break rooms, meeting rooms, and other common areas by cleaning tables, countertops, and other surfaces.
  • Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies, such as cleaning solutions, paper towels, and trash bags, as needed.
  • Any other duties as may be instructed by a member of company management.

Electrical Technician (AMO)

Location: Tedderfield
Type of employment: Permanent

Key Responsibility Areas:

  • Carrying out fault finding, testing, servicing, repairs, and installation of aircraft electrical systems and components.
  • Installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting aircraft wiring, electrical components, and avionics systems.
  • Diagnosing electrical and avionics faults in a systematic and effective manner.
  • Performing servicing, maintenance, and repairs on Sling aircraft in accordance with approved AMO procedures, maintenance requirements, and quality standards.
  • Assisting with aircraft electrical, avionics, and mechanical maintenance as required.
  • Carrying out work accurately and ensuring all maintenance activities meet the required quality, safety, and production standards.
  • Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
  • Ensuring tools, equipment, and work areas are properly maintained and used safely.
  • Recording and reporting faults, maintenance work, and outstanding issues accurately.
  • Working closely with the maintenance team to identify problems, complete repairs, and ensure aircraft are maintained to the required standard.
  • Developing practical knowledge of Sling aircraft airframes and engines through on-the-job training.
  • Performing any other reasonable maintenance-related duties as required by the AMO and management.

Essential Requirements:

  • Good working knowledge of Garmin avionics systems installed across Sling aircraft.
  • Good working knowledge of MGL avionics systems used on older Sling aircraft.
  • Good working knowledge of Dynon avionics systems used on older Sling aircraft.
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills, particularly on aircraft electrical and avionics systems.
  • Practical experience in electrical installation, wiring, and system maintenance.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge and practical ability. Training will be provided on Sling aircraft airframes and engines.
  • Ability to work accurately and systematically when diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs.
  • Matric.
  • Proficient in English, both spoken and written, with the ability to read and understand technical information.

Composite Design Draftsman (R&D)

Location: Tedderfield
Type of employment: Permanent

Key Responsibility Areas:

  • Create accurate 3D CAD models and 2D drawings of composite components, assemblies, and sub‑structures.
  • Develop mould layout drawings, surface models, and trim templates.
  • Prepare draft angles, parting lines, and laminate stack‑up details in collaboration with engineers.
  • Produce fabrication drawings for masters, plugs, moulds, fixtures, and trim jigs.
  • Ensure tooling designs consider manufacturability, repeatability, and material selection.
  • Support mould design reviews with the composites production team.
  • Work directly with the composite shop to refine layup manuals, cure cycle documentation, and trimming guides.
  • Incorporate shop-floor feedback to reduce rework and improve part consistency.
  • Update drawings for production improvements, NCR resolutions, and process developments.
  • Translate engineering requirements into accurate composite documentation packages.
  • Assist engineers in developing laminate schedules, reinforcement details, and structural design changes.
  • Contribute to weight‑reduction and manufacturability improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain up-to-date composite drawings in the company’s PDM system.
  • Ensure revision control, numbering conventions, and drafting standards are consistently applied.
  • Establish and maintain composite-specific drafting templates, symbols, and best practices.

Essential Requirements:

  • N4/N5 or higher in Drafting or Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • 2–4 years’ experience in composite drafting or modelling (Aerospace, Marine, or Automotive preferred).
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and SolidWorks or similar CAD software.
  • Ability to work with complex freeform surfaces and maintain high-quality model integrity.
  • Understanding of composite materials, layup processes, mould design, and cure cycles.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and engineering documentation practices.
  • Good at communicating written technical information.
  • Attention to detail is vital.
  • Experience in composite tooling, surfacing, or trim fixture design.
  • Familiarity with vacuum bagging, infusion, and wet layup methods.
  • Knowledge of drafting and mechanical design principles.
  • Reverse engineering methods.
  • Exposure to CNC pattern-making or nesting software.
  • Hands‑on experience building composite parts.

Production Assistant (HW Final Assembly)

Key Responsibility Areas:

  • Assist with the final assembly of various aircraft products according to work instructions and quality standards.
  • Prepare, organise, and replenish materials and components required for production.
  • Support production operators in meeting daily production targets.
  • Conduct basic visual quality inspections and report any defects or discrepancies.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment (5S principles).
  • Operate basic hand tools and equipment safely.
  • Accurately complete production documentation and records.
  • Follow all company health, safety, and quality procedures.

Production Assistant (Sub-Assembly 1 – Fuselage Assembly)

Key Responsibility Areas:

  • Assembly of the fuselage top box.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications to assemble aircraft fuselage sections.
  • Fit, align, drill, and rivet structural components such as bulkheads, stringers, ribs, and skins.
  • Safely operate pneumatic tools, riveting guns, drills, calipers, and measuring equipment.

Production Assistant (Sub-Assembly 1 - Paint Parts Preparation)

Location: Alrode
Type of employment: Permanent

Key Responsibility Areas:

  • Remove all dirt, grease, oil, and wax using a specialised prep solvent, wax, and grease remover, or mild detergent wash.
  • Inspect the surface for rust, dents, cracks, or peeling old paint, fill flaws with appropriate body filler or putty and fix any structural damage.
  • Sand the surface using progressive grit sandpaper and sanding blocks to smooth out repairs, feather old paint edges, and rough up glossy areas for mechanical grip.
  • Remove all sanding dust using a vacuum, compressed air, and a clean tack cloth or Isopropyl alcohol wipe right before coating.
  • Apply a compatible primer or sealer to bare substrates, metal spots, or repaired zones to prevent rust, seal porosity, and create a uniform base for the topcoat.

Administrator (Spray Shop)

Key Responsibility Areas:

  • Record keeping of all incoming and outgoing aircraft deliveries.
  • Administering departmental correspondence received via email or verbally.
  • Ordering of required components and consumables from Stores and external suppliers.
  • Updating and maintaining the departmental schedule and notice boards.
  • Administering, maintaining, and filing all departmental reports and documentation.
  • Printing and maintaining employee documentation other employee-related administrative queries.

Essential Requirements:

  • Matric (Admin Diploma or related experience will be an advantage).
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in administration.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Proficient in English.
  • Strong organisational and planning skills.
  • Time management.
  • Always maintain a high level of professionalism.
  • MS Office proficient (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of Omni will be highly advantageous.
