The skies above Rustenburg will soon be buzzing with excitement as aviation enthusiasts from all corners gear up for this year’s EAA SUN n FUN Fly-In at Airspan Executive Airport! Among the highlights, the Sling Aircraft team will be there in full force, showcasing two of our pride and joys: the Sling TSi and the Sling High Wing Taildragger.
Whether you’re flying in or driving, you won’t want to miss this weekend packed with fun flying, educational sessions, friendly competition and the vibrant community of EAA.

Shuttle transport will be available for easy commuting.
Meals: Airspan Aifield will provide meals for the weekend. Having an indication of the numbers through registrations will make this process easier and therefore allow for faster service. Please indicate the meals you would like to have at the airfield in the registration below.

COMPETITIONS
The Sling Aircraft Clecos Competition: How fast can you place and remove 10 Clecos? As of noon on Wednesday, Glenn Gordon from EAA Chapter 512 (Placerville, CA) held the record at 28.66 seconds. Pretty dang fast! The contest is being held at SUN n FUN from 08h00 am to 15h00 pm. The contest is simple. A rectangular cross-section tube has 10 evenly spaced holes drilled into the “top”.accommodate “copper” Clecos (#30 drillhole) and one hole is sized for a “black” Cleco (#20 drillhole). One starts a stopwatch by hitting a large button then placing the #20 Cleco first, followed by the other 9 Clecos. Once all 10 holes are filled, the contestant must remove the #20 Clecos, again followed by the others and hit the button to stop the clock. Try it! You’ll walk away appreciating someone who can do it in 28 seconds and change!
Aircraft Judging Competition: Enjoy the recognition you deserve for your blood, sweat and tears and enter your build or restoration aircraft.
Fun Rally: SAPFA will host a fun rally for EAA Sun ‘n Fun at Airspan. Get your navigator lined up to have fun with you for this activity.
STOL Demo and Spot Landing: Watch the amazing STOL performance of the “Back Country” type aircraft and hone your landing skills in the spot landing competition.
