Howzit Slingers around the world, and a special HOWZIT to the Slingers who just hopped over the ocean in Sling High Wings!
Wow! What an adventure to follow. I must say, having been on trips like this before, I realise now that it’s far more nerve-wracking sitting at home on the ground through the night waiting for your web page to refresh so you can confirm there are still three Slings pinging their position. In true Sling style, of course, they all made it safely and were welcomed to a spectacular arrival on Wednesday the 27th at Wittman Regional Airport, the busiest airport in the world for the day. (What is it with Slings and the busiest airports in the world?)
Of course, the news over the last six months has been mostly about the Sling High Wings, and there will be a great update on the whole trip coming to you all in a couple of weeks, but in the meantime, life, and the ever-exciting task of building Slings for you adventurers out there continues in the background at HQ. Although production has been delayed by numerous Covid-related supply issues and semi-conductor shortages, we are actually catching up slowly and are consistently delivering 13 aircraft per month across kits, quick build kits and Ready-to-Fly aircraft and are ramping up already in the anticipation of High Wing production or 8 per month by January 2023. With over 165 deposits received for High Wings already, we need more space, we need more people and we need to make at least 4 new fuselage moulds to ramp up to 8 High Wings a month.
Sling Cycles continues to grow. We are selling Tagati Gravel bikes weekly now and have recently put together both our prototype MTB bike and our prototype Racing bike. Now for some hard riding to really put them through their paces and test them in the harshest of environments and tracks. See the Sling Cycles website here for more on the new bikes soon.
Below, you will see that although there has been a huge amount of focus on the High Wings, there has still been time for bicycle races, supersonic dog fights and the opportunity for Mike and James to fly our TSi off a US Aircraft carrier somewhere out in the Pacific Ocean.
Please enjoy the stories and videos below of the fun and adventures Slingers across the globe are having in or on their Slings!
More soon about the High Wing trip, the plans for JP and Linda, and of course, ZU-SHW, which you will notice is making its way into Europe right now.
Keep on Slinging!
