Howzit Slingers!
Well here we are, already halfway through the year and the pandemic still rages on in South Africa. Luckily for us, the USA is doing a very good job of vaccinating its population and it seems Oshkosh will not only be happening, but it’s going to be a big one too! We are, of course, gearing up to send James and Matt Cohen over the Atlantic via St Helena Island in the tricycle gear version of the Prototype Sling High Wing. James, being an avid taildragger pilot, wants to take the second prototype which is a taildragger, but we have managed to convince him it makes more commercial sense to take the tricycle. There is plenty of time for you to go on adventures in ZU-TDR James!
The planned departure date is the 12th of July to arrive by the 26th of July for the first day of the show. The plan is then to fly on to the UK through Greenland and Iceland for the Sywell Rally, 3 to 5 September, which is no longer cancelled as we originally thought.
In addition to planning the Sling High Wing trip, we have been ordering stock of Campagnolo Ekar Groupsets to build the first custom orders of the Sling Cycles Tagati. By the end of July, we will have 8 Tagati Gravel bikes here at Sling Headquarters available for late afternoon rides around the Eikenhof trails and dirt tracks. Then, especially designed for me, we will have an e-Bike electric version of the Tagati available for testing and purchase by the end of November. Be sure to get in contact with Branko at the factory to book your ride.
Up next for us and before Oshkosh is the Sling High Wing Launch Breakfast, the Sling Africa Tour, which Mike will be leading in the Sling High Wing taildragger, and of course, lots of planes to deliver and fly!
So unless fate says otherwise, we will see you in full force at Wittman Regional on the 26th of July in our beautiful new Sling High Wing. Enjoy the read below and be sure to send us news of what weird and wonderful places your Sling takes you!
Keep on Slinging!
