Formerly known as The Airplane Factory, Sling Aircraft is truly a South African success story. Situated at Tedderfield Airpark, south of Johannesburg, Sling Aircraft manufactures, markets and maintains one of the most successful light aircraft ranges in the world today.
Sling Aircraft are sold as production-built ready-to-fly (RTF) aircraft, quick-build kits and fully constructed kits. The company’s first aircraft, the Sling 2 was under development for nearly four and a half years. Currently, this 2-seat light aircraft is available in three models, the Sling 2, Sling LSA and Sling 2 Taildragger. The Sling 2 has been a success throughout the world and this led to the development of the 4-seat variant, the Sling 4, in 2011. Thereafter, in 2018, the company launched the Sling TSi, an awarding winning high performance, turbo-charged, fuel-injected variant of the Sling 4. The Sling TSi is now the replacement aircraft for the Sling 4.
To follow up on its success, in 2020 Sling released a high-wing variant of this highly acclaimed light aircraft. The all-new Sling High Wing features all the great Sling handling characteristics combined with the inherent stability of the classic high wing design. An outstanding 4-seat, high-performance aircraft, the Sling High Wing is available in both tricycle and taildragger variants.
