Howzit Slingers of this world!
It’s been another whirlwind few months here at Sling, packed with adventures, new friends, Sling family members, late nights, early mornings, plenty of rivets being pulled, and engines installed test-flying hours completed. In amongst all this action, our marketing team have been hard at work and have captured much of it in stories, videos, and first-hand accounts that you’ll find right here in this edition of the Sling Squawk.
First up, our friends Josh and Chelsea from Aviation101 have been deep into their Sling build, and it’s been inspiring to watch their progress and excitement. They’ve brought a fresh burst of energy to the Sling family, and their story is a perfect reminder of what makes building (and flying) these aircraft so special. It was so nice for me to spend some time with Josh at Oshkosh and return home with a photo of the two of us together to prove to my 7-year-old son, Harry, that I really do know Josh Flowers. For real…
Of course, no Sling quarter is complete without a bit of Oshkosh magic. This year’s Oshkosh videos capture the buzz, the crowds, the sheer size of Sling Island, and the smiles on the faces of both new and seasoned Slingers alike. If you couldn’t make it this year, the films and footage below will give you an idea of what a blast it was. For me, it was once again a great opportunity to spend time with our magnificent team based out in the USA. Sling is now represented across most of the country, with our fantastic build centres dotted coast to coast and, of course, our distributors TAF USA based in LA at Torrance Airport.
On the international front, we’re thrilled to shine a spotlight on Sling Brazil, our distributor focus this quarter. Brazil is bursting with aviation enthusiasm, and with Sling Brazil on board, the Sling spirit is spreading fast across South America. We can’t wait to see even more Slings dotting the skies over Rio, São Paulo, and beyond.
We’ve also published three new articles that showcase just how diverse the Sling story really is: An Exercise in 3D Entrepreneurialism, Vliegtuig Vir ‘N Boer (This translates to “Airplane for a Farmer” and is a spin-off from an old South African TV show called “Wife for a Farmer”), and Sling at the Helli Lasch Challenge. Each one is worth a read, whether you’re after innovation, adventure, or a taste of the Sling lifestyle.
And if you’d rather watch than read, we’ve got you covered too. This quarter, we’ve produced four new videos which you can watch in the content below. They’re fun, fast, and show Sling people and planes at their absolute best.
On top of that, two of our Germany-based Slingers, Dirk and Diana Drees, have shared heartfelt testimonials that remind us why we do what we do. Their fervour is a real lift, and we’re grateful for their trust, friendship, and passion for Slinging.
Back at HQ, the Sling Store has had a full revamp. It’s fresher, sleeker, and better stocked than ever — so whether you’re after gear, gifts, or just a touch of Sling swag, you’ll find it there.
And finally, a big thank you to everyone who’s been sending in user-generated content — the stories, photos, and videos from Slingers around the globe are pure gold. To keep the momentum going, we’ve launched an exciting new competition where you could win a Sling Store hamper packed with awesome Sling-branded merch and accessories! All you need to do is keep Slinging — whether that’s flying cross-country, heading off on an adventure, learning to fly, or simply soaking in the freedom of the skies. Then, snap a photo or video of your journey, share it on socials, tag us, and use the hashtag #TakingYouPlaces. Every tagged post counts as an entry into our grand draw in January 2026, and the more adventures you share, the more chances you have to win. Keep them coming — because you’re as much a part of this story as the planes themselves.
So dive in, watch the videos, read the stories, check out the new store, and share in the energy of Sling. As always, we’re building, flying, adventuring, and #TakingYouPlaces with the same joy and passion that’s been with us from day one.
Fly good, don’t suck.
Cheers all!
