From 24th to 27th September, Team Sling and Comet Aviation Supplies will be setting up camp at Stands 1 and 2 at Jack Taylor Airfield, Krugersdorp, and we’d love for you to join us for an unforgettable EAA Sun ‘n Fun long weekend — Camping Oshkosh style!
We’re bringing the aircraft, the camping gear, the questionable jokes and, naturally, our charm and good looks. Oh… and did we mention the Sling Fire Pool?
That’s right. When the South African September sun starts doing its thing, come cool off with us. Bring your costume, your friends, and your best aviation stories.
We’ll have the Sling 2, Sling TSi, and Sling High Wing on display, giving you the perfect opportunity to get up close, chat to the team, explore the aircraft, and talk all things aviation.

Where will you be sleeping?
Well, that’s up to you! Go full Oshkosh and pitch your own tent under your aircraft, rent a tent for the weekend through EAA, or if sleeping under canvas isn’t exactly your idea of luxury, book yourself into a local B&B. Whatever your accommodation choice, just make sure you make your way to Stands 1 and 2 at some point during the weekend.

After reaching Cape Town in Part 2, Josh Flowers and Chelsea Smith of Aviation101, along with Chris Lammert and Keelyn Costello, reunite with friends and fly their Sling aircraft north from Stellenbosch through the Tankwa Karoo, before crossing into Namibia and exploring the spectacular Fish River Canyon. From formation flying and the Tanqua Kuru Bicycle Race to fireside celebrations and an off-airport landing in the desert, the journey becomes less about following a plan and more about embracing whatever comes next—because sometimes the most memorable part of flying happens after the engine shuts down.
